How It All Started

Zack and Linda McConnell’s journey into senior care began with a personal challenge—caring for their own ailing parents. Faced with the difficult task of finding reliable senior home assistance, Zack and Linda quickly realized how daunting the role of primary caregiver can be, especially when their siblings lived out of state.

When Linda’s father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, he wanted nothing more than to stay in the comfort of his home. Zack and Linda took on the responsibility of caring for him throughout his illness. After his passing, Linda’s mother’s health declined rapidly, compounded by dementia, eventually leading to her transfer to a nursing home, where she remained until her passing at 90. Meanwhile, Zack’s father also faced a cancer diagnosis in his late 80s. He wished to stay home, but the strain on Zack’s mother as his primary caregiver was overwhelming, resulting in her suffering a heart attack during this time.

These experiences over a span of 10 years inspired Zack and Linda to create Approved Home Care, a licensed, insured, and bonded senior caregiving company. Understanding firsthand the emotional and physical toll of caregiving, they were driven to provide families with reliable and compassionate care solutions. Approved Home Care was created to offer personalized senior care to those wishing to remain independent in their homes, as well as support for clients in nursing homes, rehab centers, and senior living facilities.

Licensed by the State of Texas, Approved Home Care serves Dallas, Denton, Collin, Grayson, and Rockwall counties. They also partner with local home health agencies, helping families navigate the challenges Zack and Linda once faced with their own parents.
