Approved Home Care recently enjoyed hosting a breakfast inservice for Healthsouth’s Home Health Service. We met with the professional Clinical Director, and 5 therapists regarding reducing hospital and rehabilitation readmission rates. Healthsouth’s Home Health provides the follow up care and continued therapy service that goes home with many of the rehabilitation patients leaving Healthsouth Plano Rehabilitation Hospital, who is nationally recognized in Superior patient outcomes. At this morning’s breakfast, we all enjoyed delicious breakfast tacos from Taco Cabana and fresh orange juice. We discussed our shared vision of quality, attentive care for seniors and the elderly in home, and how we complement each other and help seniors heal. We also help prevent falls in the home, and also discussed more about our Stroke recovery program. Many of our patients have been diagnosed with a stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s, COPD, or heart issues and find it hard to find the energy to live at home without added help. Many of our patients deal with some form of dementia, or Alzheimer’s after a stroke, and our experienced caregivers help the dementia patient be able to continue living at home with quality, daily in home care.

Our caregivers are trained with the most recent in home care techniques and complete training each month to insure quality care. Our monthly training modules include Emergency Preparedness training, Rights of the Elderly, Fall prevention, Accident prevention, First Aid, Stroke recovery, HIPPA, exposure control, infection control, nutrition, dealing with dementia, dealing with challenging patients and we offer over 34 modules to provide the best in training in our industry.
Our caregivers are Nurse Aid’s who can help with bathing, dressing, and grooming, meal preparation, assist with medication reminders, laundry, grocery shopping, Dr appointments, prescription pick up, and physical therapy exercises to name a few of the things we do for our seniors who benefit greatly from our quality services.
