Seniors will specify the type of help they need, the hours they want and important personal details – that they only speak Spanish, or that they have dogs, or that they live in a senior living community. Approved will match caregivers and seniors accordingly, with final approval of the match in the hands of the seniors and their families.

Approved will also give seniors a custom-built, easy-to-use internet portal where staff and families can view any changes in the senior’s needs or condition, so the caregivers will be better prepared when they walk in the door. Our portals and telephony system will also be used to record what services seniors received and for how long. Authorized relatives will have access to the information, so they’ll be able to monitor the situation.

Dallas, TX Senior Community Health & Wellness Fair

Approved Home Care, located at Forest Lane and Highway 75 in Dallas, TX, is attending the Tuesday, February 24, 10:30 am to 12:30 pm Community Health & Wellness Fair.

This event caters to seniors and family members and is hosted by Grace Home Health, and The Bentley, an Independent Senior Living Community. Charlotte was a very independent woman, working as a Real Estate agent until her 70’s, after working for the Central Intelligence Agency stationed in Austria after World War II. We helped Charlotte age with grace as activities of daily living became more difficult. Charlotte eventually entered a memory care facility, and our caregivers, or CNA’s were a blessing in her life.

Some family members, when visiting Mom, wanted to correct Mom, or tell her she had already told that story. These visits did not go well, and the same sister remained in denial that Mom had anything wrong, so she expected that Mom would act the same way as 10 years before. Family members need to realize that times are different for the loved one once diagnosis with Alzheimer’s. It is best to accept the diagnosis, than look for another reason for Mom’s inability to keep her focus. Correcting the patient creates frustration and confusion for the dementia patient. It is best to re-direct, not correct, to keep the stress level down for the Alzheimer’s patient.

Happy Holidays from our Santa who loves senior home care in Allen, TX at The Belmont at Twin Creeks!  We attended a holiday event at Royal Nails in Dallas by The Belmont at Twin Creeks, a premier Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation facility located in Allen, who specializes in elderly care in Allen.  The Belmont at Twin Creek is located at 999 Raintree Circle which is a beautiful facility for senior care. The Belmont staff cares for both long term and short term rehabilitation patients conveniently located to several hospitals including Baylor Hospital, McKinney, McKinney Medical Center, and Texas Health in Allen.

Our friend, Wanda Gaddis,  the Marketing and Business Development Director for Belmont was present, serving white and red wines,  hors d’oeuvres and treats while local hospital social workers, managers and staffs attended for a manicure and pedicure.  The staff enjoyed a holiday break and look forward to spreading more cheer to the elderly patients they serve.

Our client manager, John Bolin was disguised as Santa handing out goodies to those whose names were found on the “Nice” list, and taking pictures with the team of caring professionals. Senior Care in Frisco with Stonemere Rehabilitation

This past week we visited the professional staff at Stonemere Rehabilitation Center, located in Frisco, TX, conveniently at 11855 Lebanon, close by Centennial Medical Center in Frisco.  Both of our Client Managers, John Bollin and Sherry Crabtree enjoyed talking with the senior staff of Stonemere.   This team of professionals is very experienced and offers comfort and quality care for those who need rehabilitation after a hospital stay, or recovering from an injury or fall. Providing elderly care in Richardson, TX

We have several friends in the over the 40’s and 50’s crowd who took a corporate promotion and now live far away who have elderly parents living in Richardson, Dallas, Plano, Highland Park, University Park, Garland, Carrolton, Frisco, Addison, Farmers Branch, Allen, McKinney, and Coppell. We talk about their ongoing stories dealing with Mom suffering from dementia, Dad diagnosed with Parkinson’s, and Aunt Betty suffering from a Stroke, while Uncle Bill limited with COPD. Approved Home Care enjoyed meeting the large clinical staff for the Dallas office of LHC Group, which is Texas Health Home Health and Methodist Home Health.  We enjoyed meeting 27 professionals at our inservice including the LVN’s, RN’s, PT’s, OT’s, including the Clinical Director, Karen Torti and the Administrator.  We discussed our shared vision of quality care while serving seniors and elderly in Dallas, Plano, Garland, Richardson, Carrollton, and Rockwall, TX.  This group represents only the Dallas side of their operation, as Texas Home Health and Methodist Home Health, also serve Tarrant county and mid-cities areas.

LHC is partnered with both the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital system and the Methodist Hospital system as the preferred Home Health provider. American Heart Association with Approved Home Care for senior care in Dallas, TX

Approved Home Care recently was invited to attend an American Heart Association event at with Microsoft at Northpark Mall off of Park Lane in Dallas, TX, not too far from our Dallas office location at North Central and Forrest Lane in Dallas.  This event was well attended and had residents from Dallas, Highland Park, University Park, Plano, Richardson, Carrollton, Allen, McKinney, and Frisco all supporting American Heart Association. At this event in Dallas, TX, Microsoft gave the American Heart Association one-million dollars in donation to help prevent heart disease.  The new Microsoft store was opening early on Saturday morning to welcome the attendees from the Dallas community and supporters of the American Heart Association, Make a Wish Foundation, along with the Perot Science Museum as well.We enjoyed talking with the professional staff of the American Heart Association, and since we were supporting heart health early on Saturday morning, were also given free tickets to the The Perry Band, and Special guest star concert performance with Tim McGraw performing that afternoon at Northpark Mall in Dallas, TX .  We also enjoyed seeing the new products at the Microsoft store and purchased a Microsoft band to keep up with monitoring our physical activity to help with heart health.AHA Zack pic

Healthsouth Home Health with Senior Care in Plano with Approved Home Care

Approved Home Care recently enjoyed hosting a breakfast inservice for Healthsouth’s Home Health Service.  We met with the professional Clinical Director, and 5 therapists regarding reducing hospital and rehabilitation readmission rates.  Healthsouth’s Home Health provides the follow up care and continued therapy service that goes home with many of the rehabilitation patients leaving Healthsouth Plano Rehabilitation Hospital, who is nationally recognized in Superior patient outcomes.   Healthsouth Home Health serves seniors and the elderly in Plano, Richardson, Dallas, Allen, Frisco, and McKinney, TX.

At this morning’s breakfast, we all enjoyed delicious breakfast tacos from Taco Cabana and fresh orange juice.  We discussed our shared vision of quality, attentive care for seniors and the elderly in home, and how we complement each other and help seniors heal.  We also help prevent falls in the home, and also discussed more about our Stroke recovery program.  Many of our patients have been diagnosed with a stroke, dementia, Parkinson’s, COPD, or heart issues and find it hard to find the energy to live at home without added help.   Many of our patients deal with some form of dementia, or Alzheimer’s after a stroke, and our experienced caregivers help the dementia patient be able to continue living at home with quality, daily in home care.
