Medical Center of Plano Caring for Elderly with Approved Home Care

Approved Home Care recently sponsored an ice cream social with the professional staff at Medical Center of Plano, located 3901 West 15th Street, Plano, TX  75075.  You can reach the staff at Medical Center of Plano at (972)596-6800. Medical Center of Plano serves senior and elderly patients who live in Plano, Richardson, Dallas, Allen, Frisco, and McKinney. Medical Center of Plano offers a state of the art Brain and Spine Hospital, who is in the front of Neuroscience.  Medical Center of Plano has one of the largest Neuroscience units in the US, and the largest in Texas with 34 ICU beds for patients with complex neurological injuries that require 24 hour monitoring.  Approved Home Care and The Medical Center of Plano share an equal vision on quality patient attentiveness, while providing comfort and compassionate care, to optimize healing and promote healthy living.

Approved Home Care enjoyed being a sponsor of this delicious treat at The Medical Center of Plano on Thursday afternoon.  In attendance at this meeting were the Director of Case Management, Darla Sindt, along with 8 professional social workers and case managers combined.  Also, guests included were Erica Clifton and Melissa Brantley, both Hospital Liaisons with Healthsouth. Co-sponsors of the event included Carla Parish with Reliant Home Health of Allen, and Kim Ramirez with Stonemere Rehabilitation, of Frisco, TX.  All sponsors are specialized in senior and elderly care for senior patients recovering after a hospital stay.

It was a friendly meeting, with familiar faces, along with some new ones. We had light discussion about hospital readmission rates, but it was mostly a “get to know” each other and become familiar with each other’s products  and services during the meeting.  Approved Home Care receives senior patient referrals for Medial Center of Plano, and the referring social worker is very pleased with the Dutch chocolate and has said that she will continue to refer patients to Approved  Home Care.

We served Dutch chocolate, Vanilla and strawberry ice creams, with Heath Bar toffee bits, oversized M&M’s, peanut butter M&M’s,  marichino cherries, caramel, chocolate and strawberry toppings, along with A&W root beer and Coke for those opting for a float, which was a huge hit. The break from work and the treats were very well received.

In our discussions, we focused on Approved Home Care’s Stroke Awareness and rehabilitation recovery program.  Our experienced caregivers are CNA’s, or Nurse Aid’s, and can continue doing physical fitness exercises in the home that the Physical Therapist wants the elderly patient to do daily to help regain strength after a hospital or rehab stay.  Our caregivers are a big advantage with optimizing care since they help the senior and prevent falls in the home with our fall prevention training.  Our one-on-one care approach helps the elderly patient heal in the comforts of home at a faster rate than being at home with a family member alone.

If you have any questions about healing after a hospital or medical rehab stay, give us a call at (972) 658-4001.  We would love to discuss times of day you would like care, find out more about your medical concerns, and complete paperwork to have a quality licensed, insured, and bonded agency providing in home care for you.  We provide as little as a few hours of care a day to 24 hour, or live-in care.  Our caregivers are on our payroll, pass background and criminal checks, and have many years of senior and elderly care experience before we hire any caregiver.   Our caregivers can help with bathing, dressing, and grooming, housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, making beds, medication assistance reminders, and taking to Dr. appointments, and picking up prescriptions.  By providing quality hands on care, we help you heal more rapidly at home and start enjoying life.
