Approved Home Care enjoyed meeting the large clinical staff for the Dallas office of LHC Group, which is Texas Health Home Health and Methodist Home Health. We enjoyed meeting 27 professionals at our inservice including the LVN’s, RN’s, PT’s, OT’s, including the Clinical Director, Karen Torti and the Administrator. We discussed our shared vision of quality care while serving seniors and elderly in Dallas, Plano, Garland, Richardson, Carrollton, and Rockwall, TX. This group represents only the Dallas side of their operation, as Texas Home Health and Methodist Home Health, also serve Tarrant county and mid-cities areas.
LHC is partnered with both the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital system and the Methodist Hospital system as the preferred Home Health provider. Approved Home Care is the primary partner and first call for LHC Group for all things Private Duty Care related. Our caregivers are CNA’s or Nurse Aid’s and help senior’s and the elderly with in home care after a hospital or rehabilitation stay with bathing, dressing, grooming, medication assistance reminders, nutritious meal preparation, laundry, change sheets, incontinence care, picking up prescriptions, companionship, to name some of the things we do to help keep senior’s safe and independent at home.
We discussed Dual Discharging, and how we can be a stop gap for potential disaster during the (up to) 24 hour waiting period Medicare requires after a patient discharges in order for them to begin Home Health, to prevent falls, re-injury, re-admissions, etc. Approved Home Care has a fall prevention program, specializes in Alzheimer’s care, Parkinson’s care, COPD, Stroke recovery, and heart failure, along with Hospice care patients. We can schedule a CNA or caregiver to come in and help a senior around the house with as little as 4 hours of care per visit up to 24 hour or live in care in Dallas, TX, Plano, TX, Garland, TX, Richardson, TX, Allen, TX, Frisco, TX, and McKinney, TX.
We also discussed how our readmission rate of 2.3% is a tremendous compliment to their overall operation and success rate and healthy outcomes. Our hands on caregivers help the senior regain strength as the senior heals at home. Our caregivers, or Nurse Aid’s, are such a blessing and reduce stress. Our caregiver is close by the elderly patient in home to help with getting in and out of the wheelchair, or walker, and also help with getting dressed. Many falls could happen if a caregiver was not present. Our hands on care help the elderly patient to avoid re-admittance to the hospital since care is close by and medications are also reminded so the senior takes the proper prescription dosage at the right time needed.
The entire room enjoyed stories shared and experienced laughter as we talked about the memories of our favorite seniors we have met along the way. We all enjoyed four delicious types of breakfast tacos from Taco Cabana, pico de gallo, hot sauce, and fresh orange juice. It was a great group to share a meal with starting off the day.
Our in home care agency is licensed, insured, and bonded, and our caregivers are on our payroll. We take the risk out of having a caregiver in your home. We do extensive background checks, reference checks, Nurse Aid registry verification, and require our caregivers to complete ongoing in home care training for senior’s and the elderly. Some of the training we conduct is in Rights of the Elderly, Fall Prevention, First aid, HIPPA, Emergency Preparedness, Infection Control, Exposure Control, Nutrition and Diet, Accident prevention, Stroke recovery, dealing with Sundowners and dementia care.
